Members of the Girl's Choir and Schola celebrated the Thanksgiving holiday (2004) with a 10 day tour of Germany. Leading the musical worship, Kathleen Bird, Interim O/CM shepherded the group through various towns, events and worship services. The Choirs of St. Luke's have
also toured Great Britain 7 times (1982,
1988, 1992, 1992, 1997, 1998, 2003), singing daily Evensong and Sunday services
in the great cathedrals and small parish churches of the Church of
England. Planning, preparation and fund-raising for these tours takes
at least two years prior to departure, and involves the choir members,
their families, and the parish.
The Choir of Men and Boys returned to England in July/August 2003,
serving as choir-in-residence at Rochester Cathedral, Christ Church
Cathedral, Oxford, and St. Paul's Cathedral, London. The 2003 tour
culminated with Evensong at the American Cathedral in Paris and
a visit to Chartres Cathedral.
