Pence Jar Collection for Fall 2006: Our next pence jar recipient will be St. Matthew's Anglican Church in the occupied West Bank, about 30 miles from Nazareth and 7 miles from Jenin - where the largest refugee camp in Palestine is located. This church has a lively congregation and sponsors a medical clinic serving both Christians and Muslims.
Ten Thousand Villages: annual Oriental rug event September 8-16. More than 300 Oriental rugs will arrive in Evanston September 8. These are made by fairly paid adults in good working conditions and high quality. Friday, Sept. 8, and Wednesday, Sept. 13, at 7:00 pm there will be seminars with Pakistani treats led by Amir Chaman exploring the fascinating world of Oriental rugs and the lives of the Pakistani artisans who create them.
Moms and Tots Play Date: You are invited to St. Luke’s Moms and Tots play group, meeting on Fridays from 10:30 AM-12:30 PM at the Kinzie playlot weather permitting, or at St. Luke's nursery in rainy or cold weather. If you would like more information, please contact
