Baptism |
Any person already baptized can
be registered as a baptized member of St. Luke's. If you have previously
been a member of an Episcopal church, please contact that church and request
a Letter of Transfer. If you have not belonged to an Episcopal church in
the past, please write to the parish office, enclosing a copy of your baptismal
or confirmation certificate, and asking to be registered as a baptized member.
If you do not have documentary evidence of your baptism, please write with
details of when, where, and in what denomination you were baptized. The
Episcopal Church recognizes as valid any baptism administered with water
in the name of the Trinity. Baptism is the primary sacrament of initiation
into the church.
If you have not been baptized and wish to be, please speak with the staff
clergy. Baptism takes place at the Easter Vigil, on Pentecost, All Saints'
Sunday, and the First Sunday After the Epiphany. Times and dates of preparation
classes for baptism are announced in our monthly newsletter, The Parish
Visitor, and in the Sunday bulletin.
For more information in Baptism please contact
Parish Administrator.
