Membership is first
about being a child of God. You are welcome just as you are. We are all
pilgrims on a spiritual journey and we would be happy to have you join us.
If you have already received the sacrament of baptism, you may be entered
on our rolls as a baptized member. If you have never been baptized, we invite
you to explore the meaning of baptism by joining an Inquirers class, offered
on a regular basis.
Baptism brings a person into a relationship with Christ,
which commits one to proclaim the Good News of God in Christ, seeking to
serve Christ in all persons and striving for justice and peace. Members
are encouraged to adopt proportional giving of time, talents and financial
support of the Church. As baptized members, you are invited to vote for
and serve on the vestry, the parish’s governing body, and volunteer
your service to various commissions.
If you are baptized and wish to become a member of the Anglican Communion,
of which the Episcopal Church is a part, you may want to be confirmed or
received from another Communion, such as Roman, Lutheran or Orthodox. All
adults who were baptized as children are encouraged to receive the sacrament
of Confirmation and renew your baptismal vows. For applications
to join, just email us at: office@stlukesevanston.org.
